Terms of Service

By accessing and using deezbills, you confirm that you are in agreement with and bound by these Terms of Service. These Terms apply to all users of the service, including without limitation users who are browsers, contributors, or registered account holders. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for maintaining the security of your account credentials and devices. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the service.

Please review our Privacy Policy, which also governs your use of the service, for information on how we collect, use, and share your information.

We may update these Terms from time to time in our sole discretion. If we do, we will let you know by posting the updated Terms to the service and may also send other communications. It is important that you review the Terms whenever we update them or you use the service. If you continue to use the service after we have posted updated Terms, you are agreeing to be bound by the updated Terms. Because our service is evolving over time, we may change or discontinue all or any part of the service, at any time and without notice, at our sole discretion.

You may use the service only if you are 18 years of age or older and capable of forming a binding contract with us, and not otherwise barred from using the service under these Terms or applicable law. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

deezbills requires a paid subscription. We offer monthly, quarterly, and annual billing plans. Payment is processed securely through Stripe. By subscribing, you agree to pay the applicable fees for your selected plan. Subscription prices are displayed and charged in Canadian dollars (CAD) and are exclusive of applicable taxes, which Stripe calculates automatically based on your location. deezbills may change its fees at any time by posting the changes on the service or by notifying you directly. Eligible new subscribers may receive a 14-day trial period; credit card information is required to start a trial. If a trial applies, your card will be charged automatically at the end of the trial period unless you cancel before it ends.

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your billing settings. If you cancel, you will retain full access to the service until the end of your current billing period. After your billing period ends, your account transitions to read-only mode: you may continue to view your personal financial data (expenses, budgets, accounts) but you will not be able to log expenses, use Fred, scan receipts, modify budgets, or use other write features. You will also lose access to shared space Spaces until you reactivate your subscription. deezbills does not provide refunds for partial billing periods unless required by applicable law. If a payment fails, you will be given a grace period to update your payment method before your access is restricted.

To use deezbills, you must create an account using your email address or Google sign-in. You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activities that occur under your account. deezbills does not store your banking credentials and does not connect directly to your bank. All financial information is entered by you or extracted from documents you upload or emails you grant access to. You may optionally connect your Gmail account (read-only access) to allow deezbills to detect financial documents like bills, receipts, and statements. You may revoke Gmail access at any time through your Google account settings.

Fred is an AI-powered financial companion built into deezbills that provides budgeting insights, logs expenses, answers questions about your finances, and sends proactive alerts. Fred is powered by third-party artificial intelligence providers and may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated information. We may change AI providers at any time without notice. Fred does not constitute a financial advisor, tax advisor, or investment advisor. You should not rely on Fred for professional financial advice and should always verify important financial information independently. You should consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions based on information provided by Fred or any other feature of the service.

SMS messaging is entirely optional. If you opt in, you agree to receive account verification messages, account notifications (such as budget alerts and bill reminders), and, when enabled by you, Fred conversation messages via text. Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out of optional SMS notifications. Reply HELP for help. If SMS two-factor authentication is active, replying STOP will automatically switch your login verification to email. Consent to receive SMS is not a condition of using or purchasing the service. We send messages from (888) 670-3339 and (833) 764-3339.

deezbills allows you to create or join a space to share certain financial information with other members through shared Spaces. Shared data may include budgets, selected financial accounts, income sources, goals, expenses, and categories within a shared Space. You control which accounts are shared via the per-account sharing setting. You are responsible for understanding what data becomes visible to other space members when you enable sharing. You may leave a space at any time, which will revoke access to your shared data. If your subscription is canceled or expires, you will lose access to shared Spaces until you reactivate.

You may not misuse the service, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with other users, or use deezbills for unlawful, abusive, or fraudulent activity. You may not modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or make derivative works of any part of the service. You may not use automated systems or software to extract data from the service. You may not use the service to send unsolicited communications or for any purpose that is harmful to us, our users, or third parties.

The service and its entire contents, features, and functionality (including all information, software, text, displays, images, and the design, selection, and arrangement thereof) are owned by deezbills, its licensors, or other providers of such material and are protected by Canadian and international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, reproduce, download, or distribute any part of the service without express prior written permission.

Any feedback, comments, ideas, improvements, or suggestions you provide to deezbills regarding the service shall remain the sole and exclusive property of deezbills. deezbills shall be free to use, copy, modify, publish, or redistribute such feedback for any purpose without compensation to you.

The service integrates with and may contain links to third-party services, including authentication providers, AI processing providers, SMS and email delivery services, payment processors, analytics services, and cloud infrastructure providers. We may change or replace third-party providers at any time without notice. deezbills is not responsible for any third-party services, including their availability, accuracy, or security practices. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED TO YOU "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, DEEZBILLS EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. DEEZBILLS DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL DEEZBILLS, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM (A) YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE THE SERVICE; (B) ANY CONDUCT OR CONTENT OF ANY THIRD PARTY ON THE SERVICE; (C) ANY CONTENT OBTAINED FROM THE SERVICE, INCLUDING AI-GENERATED CONTENT; OR (D) UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, USE, OR ALTERATION OF YOUR TRANSMISSIONS OR CONTENT.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless deezbills and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including without limitation reasonable legal fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

This agreement shall remain in effect until terminated by you or deezbills. deezbills may, in its sole discretion, at any time and for any reason, suspend or terminate your access to the service with or without notice. You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it through the account settings. Upon termination, your data will be permanently deleted. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including without limitation ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.

In the event of a dispute, you or deezbills must give the other a written notice setting forth the name, address, and contact information of the party giving it, the facts giving rise to the dispute, and the relief requested. You and deezbills will attempt to resolve any dispute through informal negotiation within sixty (60) days from the date the notice is sent. If the dispute is not resolved within that period, it shall be settled by binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the ADR Institute of Canada.

These Terms and any dispute arising from them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law provisions. deezbills is a federally incorporated Canadian corporation.

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the other provisions of these Terms will remain in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of that right or provision. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and deezbills regarding the service and supersede all prior agreements.
